Empty Bowls Winter Service Project

Each semester our Sunday School kids complete service projects to help out our church or Empty-Bowls-2017-6-5978b0f73aefccommunity in some way. This winter, we are joining Crack Pots to support the OUR Center through the Longmont Empty Bowls project, and we would like to invite anyone interested from the congregation to join us. Between services on Sunday, February 25 we will be painting soup bowls for the OUR Center to use in their 15th Annual Empty Bowls fundraiser. All the painted bowls will be delivered to the OUR Center to use at their event. Anyone from the community is welcome to purchase tickets to the Empty Bowls event. The ticket price includes a unique bowl painted by someone in the community, soup, and an opportunity to participate in a silent auction. We are helping out by sharing our creativity and painting bowls to be used at the event. The cost to participate in painting a bowl during Sunday school on February 25 is $12. So we know how many bowls to order and how many brushes to have one hand, please sign–up in the Narthex by Sunday, February 11 if you plan on painting a bowl. You may pay with cash or a check written out to BLC. Please give all money to Jamie Jurkovich by February 25. Happy Painting!

If you are interested in attending the Empty Bowls event on Saturday, March 17 and seeing your bowl on display, you may purchase tickets directly from the OUR Center.

Eat for Education

Please join us on Thursday, March 8 between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Samples World Bistro (370 Main Street). Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the day’s meals will be donated to the Bethlehem Lutheran education fund. These funds are used for special activities like the rally day picnic and to help with some of the costs of summer day camp! We need to give a “heads–up” to Samples to assure them that their house will be packed for this fundraiser! If you are indeed planning on being there on March 8, please click here to RSVP. We need to do this so our event does not get cancelled. Or, if you prefer, please RSVP to Deaconess Kristen and she will RSVP on your behalf. Thank you for your support!

Holy Communion Class

We have an open communion practice at Bethlehem. We say "all are welcome" to God's table of grace. That means children are welcome. Each year we offer a communion class for our second graders to help in their understanding of this gift. This class is for parents and children. For more information, contact Pr. Peterson or Deaconess Kristen.

Communion Class Fall 2017

Every fall, we invite our second and third graders to learn more about this precious gift of Holy Communion. We also have fun, stomping grapes and we get creative as they make their own communion chalices. This class is for the kids and their parents to share together. For those who are interested, we will also do acolyte training.
