2016 Women's Retreat Our 2016 Women's Retreat was a great success! We traveled to the mountains Friday, September 30, through Sunday, October 2, for another great weekend of faith, fun and friends! We stayed at an awesome cabin at the YMCA of the Rockies and enjoyed wonderful food and beverages (even an adult beverage or two)! We enjoyed beautiful weather and even had some visits from a variety of wildlife! Pastor Sarah Ciavarri, our speaker, was AWESOME! She led us in an exploration of vulnerability and its relationship to shame and to joy. Check out Pr. Sarah's website. Also, here are two videos of TED talks by Brene Brown that were helpful on the topic: The Power of Vulnerability Listening to Shame Suggested reading materials by Brene Brown include: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, and Rising Strong. Recipes from the retreat can be found on our BLC members Shared Recipes page. Enjoy the pictures and if there are any questions, comments or suggestions, please contact Deaconess Kristen Baltrum, Director of Faith Formation, (303-776-3290 or email).
