Holy Week and Easter 2017

In April, our worship life is full. Our Lenten journey ends as we complete our sermon series and study of Luther's Small Catechism. Lent leads us into Holy Week—the most holy of weeks. Once again we are blessed to share this week with our partners in ministry at Light of Christ. April continues with the season of Easter.

  • Bethlehem will be leading this service of foot washing and Holy Communion.
  • The Adult Choir will be singing.

April 14—Good Friday

Christmas Day Worship 2016

Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year; we will only have one worship service on this Sunday beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Advent Prayers

Please join us each Tuesday evening during Advent for a quiet, calming, time of prayer and meditation of the season. A time to decompress from the many "things" that draw our attention this time of year. The church will be open from 6:30–7:30pm. You may come and go as you need. Even if you have only 10 minutes, that is fine. There will be a printed meditation and some bible verses available. Come join us in preparation for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Come, Lord Jesus.

Contact Sue Smith (863-326-4000) or Colleen Beyer if you have questions or suggestions.

Poinsettias for Christmas

We will again be offering poinsettias to sell to adorn our sanctuary and your home. They may be purchased for $10 each using the sign up sheet in the church narthex. You can also pay using our online donation option; choose Altar Funds and write in "Poinsettias." Please also indicate who you would like remembered or honored; those names will be listed in the Christmas Eve bulletin.

wm m sw 2015 jazz7 1

We have a tradition at Bethlehem of celebrating Pentecost and All Saint's Day with a special Jazz/Gospel worship service created and led by our own pianist, Ray Leake. Ray brings in some of the finest Dixieland Jazz musicians in the Denver area, writes special vocal arrangements for all the congregational hymns, choral pieces and special music, as well as the corresponding arrangements for the band and then puts it all together for a very inspiring, unique worship experience.

This service is uplifting and interactive--not performance oriented--a stylized enhancement to our Lutheran church service. This service is open to the public and you won't want to miss it!

Join us as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord! What was once a novelty has now become a tradition at Bethlehem. Ray Leake arranges all of the music (quite a task), lines up the professional musicians (his buddies), works out the sound system, all in coordination with the Music Director, and the Adult Choir. Invite your friends and family and join us for a New Orleans style jazz service!

Ryssby Service

g ryssby 2011 church 2

Ryssby Church is located at 9000 N 63rd St, Longmont, in Boulder County, Colorado. The church was built in 1882 by Swedish immigrants. A dedicated committee from First Lutheran Church in Longmont, the descendant congregation of the Ryssby and Elim churches, maintains the church, organizes events and funds continuous improvement projects. The church hosts weddings, church picnics, an annual Midsummer service and Christmas candlelight services in early December. g ryssby 2011 inside 3Bethlehem periodically hosts a service and old-fashioned church picnic at the Ryssby Church. The liturgy and hymns are chosen from those used by Scandinavian immigrants in the late 19th/early 20th century. g ryssby 2011 games 1

The potluck picnic and games are fun for all! Check with the Gather ministry to find out when the next Ryssby Service and picnic are scheduled.
