We know “small things lead to big things” and our small donations in this FUNd drive will produce significant results. Our Stewardship Team and Council are leading a fundraiser to celebrate everyday of the year and support the little things that make big differences in our community. The basic idea is that each day of the year is designated a dollar amount ($1–$365) and each donor gets to pick the day (or days) they’d like to sponsor. Let’s have some fun while meeting our budget this year! So what number (or date) do you want?
What: A FUNd drive for Bethlehem Lutheran Church
Why: To close the gap between our pledges to the general fund and our budget
How: Select a number from 1 to 365 and donate that amount in dollars to BLC
Result: $66,795 (1 to 365 add up to 66,795)
When: May 1, 2025 until the 2025 Annual Meeting
Who: All members and friends of Bethlehem
Ways to give:
- The offering plate on Sunday (use special envelopes in pew)
- BLC website (https://bethlehem-lutheran.net/donate/), select “Donate”, “Calendar Drive”
- Mail a check to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, designate “BLC Fund Drive” (1000 15th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501)
- Drop-off donation to church during office hours
Do you have a date that means something special to you? Do you have a special number between 1 and 365? Choose a day or date and donate that amount to BLC.
- Example: I have two children and their birthdays are January 24 and February 12. If I look at the fund drive calendar (posted in hallway near the fellowship hall or here) these dates are day 269 and day 288 so I would donate a total of $557 to Bethlehem in their honor.
- Example: My favorite number is 44 because I loved watching Chuck Foreman as running back for the Minnesota Vikings. I would then donate $44 to Bethlehem.
We can have fun doing this as a community. It is an easy way to raise a significant amount of money but allows each person to choose an amount that financially works for them. Watch the calendar in the hallway on the way to the fellowship hall to see the numbers that are available. Let’s get all 365 numbers taken as soon as possible. A handful of flour and a little oil in the jug goes a long way thanks to God (1King 17:12).
FAQ
- What if 2 people take the same number? Yes, we will have some numbers taken more than once. We will then raise more than $66,795 which is awesome.
- If I choose December 10th (day 224) do I need to wait until December 10th to make my donation? No. This fund drive is for this year’s budget so we would like donation’s as soon as it works for you.
- What if I want December 31st but I don’t know which day that is? Email stewardship@bethlehem-lutheran.net and Cindy Thompson who has a copy of the 365 day calendar will email you back with the correct day (December 31 is day 245).
- Can I donate funds in honor of someone? Yes. Whether you donate in person at church using the pew envelope or online through Bethlehem’s website, there is an area for you to designate who you would like to honor.
