Youth ministry at Bethlehem is rooted in our core value Christ-Centered Relationships. We value time spent with believers and seekers–of all ages–in worship, fellowship, and service. The core of these relationships is Christ-like love showing mutual support and accountability. Youth are invited to participate in all aspects of worship and in service/outreach as appropriate for their ages. Our youth-specific programming includes Sunday School (pre-kindergarten-grade 5), Confirmation (6-8 grade), and Youth Group (Middle and High School).
Sunday School: Pre-kindergarten – Grade 5
Our Sunday School meets between worship services (9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.). Together, we learn basic bible stories, songs, and prayers through lessons and activities led by adult and youth teachers. Contact our Faith Formation team for more information or to volunteer: faithformation@bethlehem-lutheran.net

Confirmation: Grades 6-8

Bethlehem Lutheran and First Lutheran partner to provide a three-year confirmation program in which youth learn about Lutheran Faith/Catechism, The Bible, and World Religions–and what these mean for life today. The 2026-2027 School Year is focused on The Bible. Additionally, confirmation students are paired with adult mentors who accompany them in their faith journey. The Affirmation of Baptism is celebrated on Reformation Sunday of the 9th grade year for those who wish to affirm their faith. Contact Pastor Katie (pastor@bethlehem-lutheran.net) with any questions.
Youth Group: Middle and High School

In a typical year, this ministry has monthly activities ranging from silly game nights, to community service opportunities to being together in worship. Information for these events can be found in the Star newsletter, our weekly emails or by reaching out to the Faith Formation Team at faithformation@bethlehem-lutheran.net.
During the school year: We will meet 9:15 – 10:00 am on the 1st Sunday of the month in the youth room. We will meet in the afternoon/early evening on the 3rd Sunday of the month, location TBD. Watch the announcements or contact pastor@bethlehem-lutheran.net for info.
Youth in Worship
Youth are encouraged to fully participate in worship. That means we accept some noises and wiggles as part of our life together. We welcome youth to lead in almost all the ways adults do: greeting, ushering, acolyting (lighting the candles), musicians, and serving as communion ministers and assisting ministers.
