Youth

Pre-kindergarten through High School Ministry is the age-specific ministry at Bethlehem Lutheran Church that recognizes the unique variety of needs and gifts of children and teenagers and seeks to walk along side these members and their families in identifying God’s activity in their lives. We do this through Faith Formation, Serving/ Mission, and Fellowship on a regular basis.

Sunday School
During the school year, Sunday School meets between worship services (9:15 a.m. to 10:05 a.m.) for ages 4 through 6th grade. Songs, prayers, and activities to help our young grow in faith vary each week. Contact our Faith Formation Director, Gary K, for more information or to volunteer to help (faithformation@bethlehem-lutheran.net, 303-776-3290).

Middle school and Confirmation: Grades 7–8

What a great time to explore faith together! Through events, classes and life together, we welcome youth in grades 7 and 8 and friends to be a part of this community.

Confirmation Ministry at Bethlehem Lutheran Church is a ministry program for youth in grades 7 and 8. They will study the Ten Commandments, the Apostle’s Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the Old and New Testaments of scripture, and cover topics relevant to living a life of faith in current times. Students meet on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings throughout the school year. Additionally, each Confirmation Student is assigned an adult Mentor who walks alongside them for the entire period. The Affirmation of Baptism is celebrated on Reformation Sunday of the 9th grade year for those who wish to affirm their faith. Contact Pastor Katie (pastor@bethlehem-lutheran.net) or the Faith Formation Director Gary K. (faithformation@bethlehem-lutheran.net) with any questions.

We start Confirmation this year with a comprehensive look into the Lutheran’s faith of the small Catechism. We have expanded our Confirmation Ministry to a 3 year cycle.

High School: Grades 9–12

Our church strives to help students in high school explore their faith, find a welcoming community and let’s face it, have some fun too! In a typical year, this ministry has monthly activities ranging from silly game nights, to community service opportunities to being together in worship. Information for these events can be found in the Star newsletter, our weekly emails or by reaching out to the Faith Formation Director, Gary K., (faithformation@bethlehem-lutheran.net, 303-776-3290).
