Dear Bethlehem Members and Friends,
During Summer of 2024 we formed a small group with the mission to “Empower and protect our world with the light of the Sun.” This group researched and formed a plan for solar energy at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. On November 10, 2024, our congregation voted to support this project out of love for our neighbors and God’s creation. We are glad to announce that fundraising is already well underway!
We have acquired a $150,000 loan from the Mission Investment Fund to cover part of the project costs. We need to raise another $58,900, plus fees, to begin the project. Time is of the essence as the sooner we receive the funds, the sooner we can begin the project. Any funds raised beyond this amount will be applied to the loan. We are asking members and friends to make donations. We are encouraging those who can to purchase panels at $1,000 per panel. Of course, any donation is deeply appreciated and makes a great difference.
